How does the automatic theme updater work?
Access eligible releases through your Scale account. Our automatic theme updater is still in development; we will announce its availability when ready. Back up your current theme and test updates on an unpublished copy before publishing.
How do I receive and activate my license?
After payment, your order is linked to its purchase email. Sign in at app.scaletheme.com using that email and open Licenses to automatically claim matching unassigned keys. If an order does not appear, refresh or use the order-number-and-purchase-email claim option. Each key activates one Shopify store.
What updates are included with Scale Theme?
Your valid Scale Theme V1 license includes V1 updates for life. Future separate editions, third-party subscriptions and custom development are not included unless your purchase expressly says otherwise. A theme license is a one-time purchase, not an ongoing subscription.
How are theme bugs handled?
Report reproducible theme defects to support@scaletheme.com with the affected store, theme version and steps to reproduce. We will investigate and aim to provide a fix or reasonable workaround for supported setups. Third-party app conflicts, custom code and bespoke development may require separate work. For qualifying material defects that cannot reasonably be resolved, our Refund Policy applies.
What's included with Priority Support?
Customers who purchase 3 or more licenses receive priority review of eligible support requests ahead of standard tickets. Include your order reference, theme version, store domain and steps to reproduce. Priority changes the queue order; it is not a guaranteed response or resolution time.
Why is it built on Horizon?
Horizon is Shopify’s official reference theme and currently the strongest foundation for performance and compatibility. By building on it, our theme automatically receives Shopify’s ongoing updates and optimizations. On top of that solid base we add our own premium features and deeper customization options. You get Shopify’s reliable core combined with everything we’ve built to make the theme more powerful and flexible.
Can I upgrade to a future Scale Theme Pro edition?
If a separate Pro edition becomes available, we will explain its pricing and available migration options before you buy. No future edition, upgrade price or preservation of third-party customizations is guaranteed unless expressly offered with your purchase.
Do you offer refunds?
Digital delivery does not come with an automatic change-of-mind refund under our voluntary policy. We investigate reproducible problems and work to fix qualifying defects. If an advertised core feature has a material defect we cannot reasonably resolve, you may qualify for our 7-day technical-resolution refund promise. Mandatory legal rights always remain available. Our Thesis
Why Should I UseScale?
We got into ecommerce looking for a competitive advantage. So we did what everyone else does. We tried the most popular Shopify themes, tested different builders, and looked for something that could actually help us build a better store.
But everything felt the same.
Most themes looked fine at first glance, but the deeper we went, the more obvious the gap became. The structure was generic. The sections felt disconnected. The cart was basic. And the store never felt like the brands we were trying to compete with.
It looked like a template, not a real brand.
Then we tried page builders. More control, but more friction. More monthly fees. More time spent editing. More moving parts. And somehow, the end result still felt harder than it should have.
So we built Scale around what serious ecommerce stores actually need:

Will my customizations carry over after a Scale Theme update?
Back up your theme and use the supported update workflow. Review the result in an unpublished theme before publishing; custom code and third-party modifications may need manual review. See the Help Center for update guidance.
How can I contact Scale for support?
Email support@scaletheme.com or use our contact page. Include your store domain, theme version and a clear description of the issue. Do not send passwords or activation secrets in public messages.
What makes Scale Theme different from other Shopify themes?
Scale Theme combines a flexible Shopify foundation with conversion-focused sections and built-in features such as upsells, bundles, product-page blocks, and promotional tools. It is designed to help you create a premium storefront while reducing your reliance on multiple recurring apps.
Is Scale Theme a one-time purchase?
Yes. Your Scale Theme license is a one-time purchase for the edition and number of store licenses shown at checkout. Separately released products, editions, services, or additional store licenses are not included unless they are explicitly listed with your purchase.
Do I need additional apps with Scale Theme?
Scale Theme includes many built-in features that can replace common Shopify apps. Some stores may still need specialized third-party apps for services such as subscriptions, reviews, fulfillment, or advanced integrations, depending on their setup.
Will Scale Theme slow down my store?
Scale Theme is built with performance in mind on Shopify’s Horizon foundation. Your final store speed can also be affected by image sizes, installed apps, tracking scripts, custom code, and other third-party content.
Do you have an affiliate program?
We do not currently offer a public affiliate program. Contact support@scaletheme.com for partnership enquiries.
How often are updates released?
We release updates regularly based on customer feedback, performance improvements, and feature requests. Minor fixes and refinements are shipped as needed, while larger feature updates are released once they’ve been fully tested. All future updates for the Scale Theme edition you purchased are included for life with your active license.
What is your refund policy?
We offer a 7-day conditional refund for a material technical defect we cannot reasonably resolve. Submit your request within 7 calendar days of purchase. Mandatory legal rights and payment-provider protections remain available. Read our Refund Policy for the complete conditions.
